What We Do

Intervention Programmes

Changing Lives Through Sustainable Programmes

Skills Development

We equip widows and vulnerable women with practical vocational skills that can help them generate income and become more self-reliant. Training areas include catering, baking, bead-making, decoration, cosmetology, soap production and other marketable skills.

Welfare Support

We provide essential relief materials such as food items, clothing, household supplies and seasonal welfare packages to widows, orphans and vulnerable families. Emergency support and monthly feeding assistance are also provided to beneficiaries facing severe financial and living challenges.

Prayer & Thanksgiving

Since its inception, WOSSA has organized an annual Prayer and Thanksgiving Programme to emphasize the importance of prayer, gratitude, and spiritual encouragement. Beneficiaries are brought together for counselling, training, and prayers for God’s mercy, grace, and continued support.

Healthcare & Rehabilitation

We provide medical assistance to widows, children and vulnerable individuals facing health challenges, including support with hospital bills, medication and long-term care. We also assist families experiencing accommodation difficulties through rehabilitation support, rent assistance and emergency financial intervention.

Economic Empowerment

We help widows become financially independent through business grants, cooperative opportunities, start-up support and assistance for existing small businesses. Our empowerment programmes provide beneficiaries with the resources and guidance needed to build sustainable livelihoods and support their families.

Education & Counselling

We support the education of widows’ children, orphans and vulnerable children through scholarships, school materials, back-to-school programmes and educational relief initiatives. We also provide guidance and counselling to promote emotional stability, confidence and improved academic development.

National Agricultural Transformation Investment Plan

The National Agricultural Transformation Investment Plan is a WOSSA initiative designed to support sustainable agriculture, food production, rural development, and economic opportunities for vulnerable individuals and communities across Nigeria.

Through agricultural training, access to productive resources, entrepreneurship support, and community-based farming initiatives, the project aims to improve livelihoods, strengthen food security, and promote long-term economic independence.

Africa Youth Employability and Soft Skills Transformation Initiative (AYESTI)

AYESTI is a WOSSA youth empowerment initiative designed to equip young Africans with practical digital skills, employability competencies, entrepreneurial knowledge, and real-world experience.

The initiative is implemented in strategic partnership with Nasdigit Technologies Limited, which provides the learning infrastructure, curriculum, facilitators, mentorship, assessments, and certification.

United Nations International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women

This year’s observance focuses on the theme: “End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”

The programme will raise awareness about online abuse, cyberbullying, harassment, exploitation, and other forms of digital violence, while promoting safer digital spaces where women and girls can participate, communicate, and thrive without fear.
