Our mission’s obligation is to ensure 100% services and advocacy support programs for widows, vulnerable women, orphans, and the girl-child education. We strongly believe that with your warmth support and participation as our stakeholders, millions of lives will be transformed across the continent of Africa.
We are proud of your applauding records for humanitarian services without borders, and your passion for widows and their children, orphans, and the less privileged citizens in Nigeria and across Africa.
The Widows and Orphans Support Society of Africa (WOSSA) was founded by Dr. Tayo Thomas on January 17, 2007, after he was contracted to renovate a dilapidated estate in Lekki-Ajah. During his inspection, he encountered abandoned women and children living in an incomplete building, lacking necessities.
Moved by their suffering, he felt a strong calling to help orphans, widows, and the less privileged across Africa, starting in Nigeria. This mission inspired the name WOSSA, which is registered with various government bodies and the United Nations Emergency Rescue Services. Dr. Thomas later partnered with his friend, Hon. Ben Dumbari Dimkpa, to further this important work.
To protect and improve the quality of life for widows, their children, orphans, and vulnerable individuals in the African continent.
We enhances the lives of orphans, widows, and vulnerable children in Africa by providing essential support and educational resources through partnerships with orphanages. It empowers these groups with vocational training and microfinance schemes to foster independence. Additionally, it addresses urgent needs through financial assistance and emergency welfare packages.
