Our Goal is to reach widows and orphans across the length and breath of Africa, basically to care for, protect and improve the quality of lives of Widows, their children, orphans and other vulnerable children in our society.
We care for children whose parents have died, are unknown, or have permanently abandoned them.
We care for women whom have lost their spouses or partners by death & usually have not re-married.
We believes service to humanity is service to God, our love, care and support toward widows and orphans are overwhelming.
The name “WOSSA” was inspired through divine instruction, a Non-Governmental and Humanitarian Services Organization duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Federal ministry of Women Affairs, Federal Ministry of youth and Sport development, Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and United Nations Rescue Services.
To protect, care and improve quality of lives of widows, their children, orphans and the vulnerable ones in the Africa Continent.
To provide emergency and seasonal welfare package for widows, their children, orphans and others needing help within the Africa continent.
Since inception in 2007, WOSSA has been carrying out several intervention programmes to her targeted beneficiaries and these programmes include;
This programme is geared towards the educational development of widow’s children and orphans. The Foundation also conducts seasonal “Education Relief Programme” (ERP) where some students are adopted by individual sponsors who pay their school fees.
Over the years, WOSSA has empowered more than three hundred & fifty (350) widows in various businesses through funds from supporters and those who need more funds to boost their business
WOSSA has intervened in over one hundred & fifty (150) widows’ Accommodation problems, either augmenting or paying full house rents ranging from Fifty (50) Thousand to Three Hundred and Fifty (350) Thousand Naira. WOSSA has also intervened in the cases of widows with health issues.
Every year since 2015, WOSSA organizes annual “End of the year welfare package” for its registered beneficiaries. In this programme, items such as bags of rice, bags of beans, cartons of indomie noodles, cartons of tin tomatoes, gallons of oil etc, are distributed.
Since inception, WOSSA organizes annual “Prayer and Thanksgiving Programme”. In this programme, the importance of prayers and thanksgiving is emphasized. All the beneficiaries are gathered for counseling, training and for prayers for God’s Mercies and Graces.
WOSSA in partnership with DE benze Petroleum Limited and Jodappa Nigeria Limited has sponsored over twenty widows for different vocational training programmes. The areas of training are bead-making, decoration, baking, cosmetology, soap making and catering.
